Instructions for Submitting Product Billing Codes

   on

Pacific Herbs – Menopause Relief Herb Pack

and

Pacific Herbs – Corydalis Natural Pain Relief Herb Pack

Please Follow Steps in Numerical Order.  The order is important.

Please do Step #1 before anything else.

Step #1

Make sure your office and billing procedures are following all HIPAA rules & regulations.  Most likely you are already HIPAA Compliant.

Please make sure all possible and appropriate taxonomy description codes under your NPI (National Provider Identifier) listing are updated. This improves insurance reimbursement rates/possibilities for everything. If part of your scope of practice includes nutrition and/or herbs please note this in your NPI taxonomy codes. (It is not necessary to have an herbal scope to bill herbs but use all codes that apply to your training and expertise.)  Below are some examples of codes that may apply to you. If you are a Chiropractor or have massage expertise etc. Codes will vary.  This is only an example.

NPI website is here:    https://npiregistry.cms.hhs.gov/

Step #2.  For paper “Super Bills” given to patients

Enter the appropriate billing code using the “Line Item Note Field” write:  ZZGCBDC (3 spaces) (short description, i.e. Pacific Herbs Menopause Relief Herb Pack)

or

ZZGCBDD (3 spaces) (short description) Corydalis Natural Pain Relief Herb Pack by Pacific Herbs

————————————————————————————————-

For Electronic Submission Follow the instructions below.

Use the  “Line Item Note Field”

(1 space in front of code) GCBDC (3 spaces) (short description i.e. Menopause Relief Herb Pack by Pacific Herbs)

(1 space in front of code) GCBDD (3 spaces) (short description) Corydalis Natural Pain Relief Herb Pack by Pacific Herbs

Step #3   Remember for electronic submissions to reimburse patient when insurance reimbursement is received. Until precedent is set with a particular insurance company and reimbursement is guaranteed we suggest you charge a patient full price for the product and then follow a reimbursement method once you have recovered funds for the products billed.
